Lexaurus Editor
Lexaurus Editor is a partner product to Lexaurus Bank and a standalone, desktop application for quick and simple off-line creation and editing of vocabularies, taxonomies and thesauri. Lexaurus Editor supports import and export in Zthes and SKOS XML formats, and allows hierarchical / poly-hierarchical structures to be loaded for editing, or even multiple vocabularies to be loaded simultaneously, so that terms from one taxonomy can be re-used in another, simply using drag and drop. Written in Java, Lexaurus Editor is cross platform and database agnostic and is shipped with the Derby embedded database.
Lexaurus Editor is widely used in the UK and Europe by taxonomists and information management specialists, often in conjunction with non-specialists - typically, subject matter experts. Completed vocabularies can be exported to facilitate a range of content classification tasks or uploaded and published into the public-facing Lexaurus Bank.
