Lexaurus Editor
Lexaurus Editor helps you create and edit term or concept based vocabularies, concept schemes, ontologies, data definitions, taxonomies and thesauri. It is a desktop program that is quick and easy to use.
Lexaurus Editor can automatically publish to and synchronise with one or more Lexaurus Banks. It allows hierarchical and poly-hierarchical structures to be edited. Multiple vocabularies can be loaded simultaneously to allow for term reuse and mappings between structures. It is format independent and currently supports SKOS, VDEX, XVD, ESD Toolkit and Zthes natively. Stylesheets can be applied on export so the output can be customised to your format requirements.
Lexaurus Editor is widely used in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada by taxonomy experts, information management specialists and non-specialists.
Lexaurus Editor: key features
- Easy to use The editing interface can be used for developing all forms of terminology structures, including poly-hierarchical taxonomies, faceted thesauri and ontologies.
- Multilingual Lexaurus can create and edit multilingual structures. Any text value can be translated independently.
- Customisable schemas The metadata used to describe structures and terms or concepts is entirely configurable and schema-driven. This allows the creation of custom properties and data types. For example to support multiple facets, custom note fields, custom part numbers or repeating properties.
- Customisable relationships As well as all common thesaural relationships users can define their own relationship types and item types.
- Format independent Lexaurus Editor supports both concept and term-based formats. Implementing a different format is simply a case of writing a custom plug-in. Hence Lexaurus provides conversion between many standard formats. Please ask about support of your format of choice.
- Drag and drop for quick, simple modification of hierarchies, re-use of different terminology sets and mapping between vocabularies.
- Customisable reporting Custom reporting including property names, langauge, content and styling is supported.
